Billionaire and philanthropist believes Nigerian entrepreneurs to change Africa. At 52, Tony Elumelu heads simultaneously one of the largest banks in Africa, United Bank for Africa (UBA), present in nineteen countries, London and New York, as well as Transcorp, the largest listed conglomerate Nigeria Stock Exchange.
At the head of Heirs Holdings, his investment company, holds shares in sectors as diverse as oil and gas, financial services, hospitality, petrochemical, agriculture, infrastructure and energy. Early, he was, at 34, owner of a bank in Lagos, the huge economic capital.
Tony Elumelu launched in 2015, through its Foundation, a program to select each year for ten years, thousands of entrepreneurs projects, each of which offers an intensive online training, mentoring for nine months and seed money .
