Twitter Increases Its 140 Words Character Limit to 280, And Users are Not Happy

Twitter known has increased it140 character limit policy to 280 character tweet feature. Twitter made the big announcement that it has started testing a 280-character limit for tweets yesterday. This effectively doubles the previous character limit. The move was apparently in a bid to help users be more expressive.

“Our research shows us that the character limit is a major cause of frustration for people tweeting in English,” the company said in a blog post.

“When people don’t have to cram their thoughts into 140 characters and actually have some to spare, we see more people Tweeting — which is awesome!”

Now that Twitter had finally come around to breaking its 140 character ritual, users of the social media platform are reacting, and so many prefer to stay with the cagey 140 characters they are used to.
