popular Afrobeat giant Femi Kuti has taken to expressing his profound joy as his son Made graduates in flying colours from a university not based in Nigeria.
The saxophonist who was nothing short of excited took to immortalising and lauding the glorious event of his son’s graduation on Twitter.
He shared a wonderful picture of himself and the happy graduand who was wearing an academic gown and mortar board on his head. But he was not the only one with his son abroad. His ex-wife Funke was also at the occasion.
Funke who looked radiant as ever struck a pose beside her son and beamed as she celebrated the latest success of her son. Made who is only 22 also seemed to be overjoyed as he posed with his parents.
The 22-year-old Made has been making some steady strides ever since he finished from college. Not only did he come back home to be with his daddy at New Afrika Shrine, he also joined his father’s band named Positive Force.
Made has travelled places with the well renowned band and performed as an bassist. He recently made a rendition side by side with his father at Felabration 2018. Also, he participated in the Global Citizen concert held in South Africa.
Thoroughly happy about the success of his son and the greater heights he was bound to climb, Femi Kuti decided to make an example out of Made on Twitter. He did a tweep attacked him about sending off his son to study abroad.
He took to his page to assert that the young man was an example of positive change and mentality that Nigerian youths should embrace and embark on.
According to him, while he had sent his son to get some good education abroad, the son did not decide to remain there as was the culture of most people. Rather, Made chose to come back home and be part of the change agents needed by Nigeria.
My Son has gotten the best education that I could afford he will now use that to develop AFRICA as best as he can.( something I wasn’t able to do academically) as you see he’s back home and will be part of the solution ) practicing wisely I would say .
